DJ Thor

Hailing from the freezing land of fierce Norwegian Vikings, DJ Thor exchanged his battle axe for a set of turntables and sailed to Philadelphia to strike the people with his music. Bearing the moniker of the ancient Norse god of thunder and lighting, bangin’ beats quickly became second nature for him. While studying music and sound engineering at Temple University, he picked up the guitar, keys an arsenal of percussive instruments and consequently incorporates these into his music production. DJ Thor has put his work into a variety of music genres predominantly in hop-hop and r&b production. His sound can be described as classic (timeless), inspired by funk, reggae. Jazz, soul and Norwegian folk music! As a progressive thinker, he applies his expertise in expanding the boundaries of sonic pleasure. Along with partner Femstar, he formed the movement called Pyrodesiak. Besides creating music, the duo are members The Commission Music Group, Philadelphia’s premiere DJ crew. He's also one part of the duo People Love Music, a dj/production crew he runs with his friend Sprellemann, based in Oslo, Norway.
