Hi y’all! Welcome to Acutegrandma’s page. I consider myself one to be perceptive, and often with an incisive mind, but there have been times when I am misundertood. I am aka “TwinightDenise†because I love the way the stars shine against the night sky, as if it were diamonds pressed against velvet, but enough of that LOL.
One thing about me, is I love to make people smile. If I can get at least one smile each day…then my days are not in vain.
My birthday is July 21st and I will soon be 53. I am not ashamed to tell my age, because I feel the Lord has kept me, and He will keep you if you have a desire to be kept.
I have been in church all my life, yes I was a pew baby, growing up Methodist on my maternal Grandfather’s side and Baptist on my Grandmother’s side, alternating back and forth every other Sunday. Mom taught Sunday School for a while, until we were stationed here in Leavenworth (I was an “army brat†as well) Later I was Baptized in Jesus Name and I am striving to walk with the Lord. My paternal grandfather was a pastor a church in Alabama, and my father preached as well, so as you can see…church is in me. It has not always been easy, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
I am a member of the Pentecostal Church of the Apostolic Faith in Leavenworth, Kansas. District Elder Leland O. Thomas is my Pastor. He says “If You Love the Lord, Say Amen…â€
I am happily married to a wonderful man. I have three daughters, who all are 30 years old right now…(don’t ask LOL) Tamika, Tamara & April Goodwin…we call them A T & T. I also have 2 step daughters in Baltimore, Lisa and Michelle. I am the proud grandmother of 7 grandchildren and one on the way. I love my family, and I have a very special place in my heart for all my nieces and nephews. Y’all know who you are ...
I posted all my grandchildren for you to see, and yes just call me “brag-a-docious†LOL.
I enjoy NFL, sewing, working with graphics, working with flowers, writing poetry, singing for the Lord. I enjoy movies with Morgan Freeman, Danny Glover, Tyler Perry & Whoopie. Movies like Driving Miss Daisy, Color Purple, Lean on Me and others. I also enjoy Gospel Music, Doo-wop, Motown and some “old skool†tunes. Leave me a note or a message if ya like

Just like diamonds in the sky
