My name is Michelle (I go by "MamaChelle" on the many forums I juggle in my free time.) I'm just me. There is this song by a band called Pinhead Gunpowder called "Life During Wartime", and the lyrics without a crowd/I'm not so loud/I can't do anything by myself/but that's just another lie have stirred something within me ever since I first heard it almost 10 years ago. I am an empathetic observer of the world around me. I recognized a very long time ago that things are greatly amiss in this world. I am still working on what I can do about it. In my own life, I have eliminated much of the system. I do not have a valid driver's license (I prefer to walk, ride my bike, or hitch a ride from a friend.) I do not have a credit card, or a bank account. I don't buy "things", and when I do buy anything, I go the extra mile to not buy anything that comes from a multi-conglomerate corporation. I stopped watching television during my early adulthood - mostly because when I leapt into the "real world" on my own, I couldn't afford it. But it didn't take long for me to realize that I also didn't miss having television in my life, and my eyes really opened up after that. It has been a long process getting to the mindset I have today, and with every passing day, I learn and see more. I am working towards living a fully self-sufficient lifestyle. Basically, I am being the change I want to see in the world. I give people their space, respect their beliefs, and teach those who wish to be taught - while also learning from them. You will not find me posting "news bulletins", fear based propaganda, or any of the usual stuff you might come across on MySpace. I endorse ideas I agree with that I think others might benefit from, and I more often than not post my own thoughts and observations.
Project Awake started out as an idea that came to me quite spontaneously and fully - to create a venue where people who are aware of the hierarchies of the world and how they take away the common folks' liberty and freedom could come together & organize ways to broadcast important messages to the public at large. Over the last several months I have realized that is a tremendous project that couldn't possibly succeed without the participation of thousands of like minded people. I also realize that ultimately, the freedom movement will gain more attention from the public as they are - spread out over every corner of the web, and individual freedom fighters doing their parts in their own ways. Corralling us all under one umbrella group is not only impossible, but it's not the right course of action. The more websites there are, the better. Many have come into the Project Awake community only to remain silent, or to share more of the same news and media that you find everywhere else that truthers and liberty lovers get together on the internet. This project was meant to be about discussing solutions and acting on them, and it would seem the point has flown over most folks heads, as I see all around me far more people regurgitating information instead of coming up with solutions on their own. I am not upset about this, however, my observations tell me that those who spread info unchecked - while their intentions may be good - are ultimately causing more problems. The "Brainwashed Sheeple" as many so lovingly refer to them, are not prepared to comprehend and accept something like "Endgame" or "Freedom To Fascism". Think about how you stumbled upon these and other documentaries like it. You probably already had a sense that things were very amiss in the world, yes? That's the difference. Not everyone notices. They may never notice - and it is no one's duty to MAKE them notice. For those of us who did and do notice, we have work to do. We start by living our lives as free from the system as we can. That means learning about survival, self sufficiency, putting aside hatreds and not focusing on our differences, but our similarities. It also means giving up hunting for articles about the political candidates, giving up the Alex Jones Show, assessing fear based propaganda and recognizing that it does not mobilize anyone to do anything except post more fear based propaganda, and QUESTIONING EVERYTHING. Even these very words.
