About Me

"Help us Lord ... " Often there's no justice in rock music. The big machine chews 'em up and spits 'em out. As eloquently painted in words by Roger Waters when lamenting over Syd Barrett on the "Wish You Were Here" album. You know, those cigar sucking Col. Parkers and P.T. Barnums of music peddling. Clearly this was the undeserving fate of White Witch. A band born in Tampa, Florida and soon signed to Macon, Georgia's Capricorn Records in the early 1970s. White Witch — much like label mates, Captain Beyond — missed the traditional mark of what was deemed contemporary and acceptable within the saturated Southern Rock music market of the era. White Witch is a fitting peer to the likes of "The Crazy World of Arthur Brown,"'Alice Cooper,'David Bowie and even Marc Bolan and T.Rex at moments. With scitzophrenic mood swings of soaring guitar, rumbling organ and the brilliant use of Moog synthesizer — White Witch paint a canvas layered with heavy metal oddly blending into Beatlesque harmonies. Bands of today like The Darkness should pay homage to Captain Ronn Goedert and company. Too often overlooked, now the Myspace community can take a journey into the mysterious lair of swampy Florida glam rock. White Witch lives! White Witch rocks!
