About Me

Daiyana Rodriguez & Eva Blanco were born in Havana, Cuba were they began their musical studies at the age of nine years old in the musical conservatory Alejandro Garcia Caturla. Later, they continued their musical career in the conservatory Amadeo Roldan, specializing in classical guitar and clarinet. During their second year of study, they started to play together in different places of Havana City. At the beginning, their repertoire included musical pieces which were more closely oriented toward their classical foundation. Eventually, they started to include diverse Latin American styles, American pop, Irish, Afro Cuban, as well as some of Daiyana's original compositions. They were both accepted in the first position of their specialties into the University of the Arts in Havana Cuba, where Eva pursued mastering the clarinet, as well as Daiyana her guitar and composition skills. Eva has won several soloist awards such as the first place of the music competition promoted by the Union of Writers and Artist of Cuba, first place of the National Wind Contest in Havana, which gave her the opportunity to become a formal member of the National Symphonic Orchestra. Once in the United States, Eva played with the Civic Orchestra of Wilkes-Barre in the "Weber Concertino for Clarinet." During the same time, Daiyana pursued her compositional career composing new musical pieces for their previous musical group, 'Cuban Tres.' Combined with her studies at the University, Daiyana started working as a Music teacher in the Musical Conservatory Alejandro Garcia Caturla. In 2001, they both traveled to the United States, sharing their music with a new culture. By 2005, they earned full scholarship to Marywood University, where they are currently majoring in Music Education. *Cuban girls are available to perform for many occasions such as: shows weddings, parties, cultural-events, receptions, etc. *They both teach music lessons on clarinet, guitar, piano, history and theory of music, as well as Spanish language. *Please, feel free to contact them for any events, music lessons or to obtain any further information through this website, or by email: [email protected] made this myspace background at
