Murray Gamrath Has been fishing for over 25 years in the Bering Sea. Murray has worked on the F/V Cornelia Marie for 18 years now, as deckhand, engineer, and relief skipper, taking over for Captain Phil last season during Phils medical emergency. He currently lives in New Mexico with his family, and is opening up a Coffee cafe in his home town of Las Cruces.
Freddie Maughtai, has been fishing for more than 15 years. He is an experienced deck hand; with the F/V Cornelia Marie off and on since the early 90’s.Freddie lives in the mid-west.
Steve Ward joined the Cornelia Marie for the 2009 Opilio fishery. He’s an experienced fishermen and the boat’s Engineer.
Jake Harris, Captain Harris’s younger son serves as deckhand on the F/V Cornelia Marie going into a 4th season.He has fished with his Grandfather and in the summer Jake fishes halibut on another boat.
Josh Harris, Captain Phils oldest son, has worked in fish processing plants, and has cod fished. He has now joined ranks with his father and younger brother aboard the Cornelia Marie.
The Cornelia Marie was built in 1989 in Alabama.It's home post is Kodiak, Alaska.The owners are Cornelia Maria Devlin, and Phil Harris. The Cornelia Marie was one of the last boats built by Horton Boats. It is 128 feet (39 meters) long, 28 feet (8.5 meters) wide, and carries 28,500 U.S. gallons (107,852 liters) of fuel and 3,000 U.S. gallons (11,353 liters) of fresh water.[1][2] The original owner was Ralph Collins. The Cornelia Marie fishes for King, Tanner, and Opilio crab, and also does Salmon and Herring tendering. She features an aquamarine and white paint scheme with yellow banners bearing the ship's name.
