I'd like to meet:

Hello and welcome to the Faure Fans myspace!!

Before I start, let me say that I am not Duncan Faure, so please don't send me fan mail! :) I'm just a fan, like you! This site is run with full permission and cooperation of Duncan (thanks, Duncan!). He comes to this page often and may pop in at any time, so make sure you show him some love and sign the guestbook or leave a comment! :)
This myspace is a tribute to Duncan Faure, the musician, the songwriter, the singer....the man. Here's a bit about Duncan's life and career, thus far:

Duncan Faure (born December 16, 1956, Pretoria, South Africa), started his music career as a teen in the 70's with a band called Orange Cash Boat.
He rose to fame in the mid-1970s as one of the lead singers for the South African rock band, Rabbitt. Rabbitt earned three gold albums, and one platinum. Rabbitt disbanded in 1978.
As fate would have it, Faure stepped in as lead singer for the Scottish pop band, the Bay City Rollers (yay!) soon after, and would record three albums with them ("Elevator", "Ricochet", and "Voxx"). These are three of the most underrated albums of all time, in my opinion. It doesn't get any better than Hello and Welcome Home. Unfortunately, due to prior judgements on the part of the music industry and some fans (not all, Duncan!), their new found sound was hard to swallow. This (along with a world of other problems) caused the members of the band to go their separate ways.
In 1983, Duncan formed Karu with Stuart "Woody" Wood from the Bay City Rollers and released an album in Japan, scoring a number 2 hit in South Africa... "Where is the Music". I love that song!
In 1988, Duncan Faure contributed to Madonna's "Who's That Girl" soundtrack, with a song entitled "24 Hours", a solo effort.
In 1997, he married Laurie McClain. She had joined Faure's group, The First World Band, the previous year.
In the late 90's Duncan released "Pronounced Four-uh" which is my personal favorite. If you don't own this CD and listen to it every day, you are missing out. Seriously. In 2001, "Take the Good" CD was released...another fabulous work.
In 2005, Duncan released "Letter from Britain: Home Studio Recordings", on which he wrote all the songs, played every instrument, and produced it too! It's in it's second printing now, but it's hard to find. I finally got mine!
Duncan Faure continues to write songs, record and perform. He recently wrapped up a tour with the band Backbeat, where he played the role of John Lennon. I couldn't see a better role for him to play. He is currently working on his latest project, "Kick of The Rhino", which his fans are very anxiously awaiting! He lives in Las Vegas, Nevada with his wife, Laurie, and their two beautiful children.
For more in depth information about Duncan's career, hear it from the man himself. To the left is a link to his very own myspace page. That's where you can find tour dates, music, cool photos, and blogs!
