Jus Hustle, the son of a school teacher and a shop worker/hustler, was born and raised on the north side of Flint, Michigan. Growing up in a city known for its violent streets, music was his way to get his mind off the ghetto and all it’s problems. At the age of 4 he would go to the club with his pops, and play songs on the jukebox to see what got the crowd going. By the time Hustle was in his early teens he was ADDICTED to Hip Hop. Not only did he listen to it nonstop, he studied the lyrics. He started to write and waited a few years until he thought he was good enough to record. During that time he also started selling drugs at school and around the neighborhood. At 17, he took $2,000 of what he made and bought a studio block. The only problem is he didn’t have beats. He knew a few melodies and rhythms he wanted to use from playing on the keyboard he had, but he wasn’t a producer yet. But, Jus didn’t take the easy way out and buy some beats. He spent half of his studio time learning how to produce and arrange. By the end of the studio sessions, he put together a handful of hot songs. Then, he put his music career on hold to focus on things not so legal. After finishing high school, Hustle attended Ferris State University for a year, majoring in Music Industry Management. He returned to Flint and continued college off and on until he earned an Associate’s degree in Marketing. In between time, Hustle caught felony gun and drug delivery charges and went on the run. When the law finally caught up with him, Jus decided to leave the stress of the streets alone and to pursue his music career. While going to court, Jus Hustle recorded and released the critically acclaimed and commercially successful mixtape “This is a Stick Up vol. 1†Since then, he’s released several more mixtapes and compilation albums on his record label Big Game Entertainment. Hustle has also song/ghostwritten and/or produced for numerous well known artists. He’s playing with a great hand going into 2009. Negotiating several major deals while readying the release of his worldwide debut “Hard Work Pays Offâ€, he has one goal in mind…. THE TOP.
