About Me

Hi! I am a hard working, fun loving guy who has gone through some pretty major changes in the past few years. All the best kind of changes! (No I didn't get a sex change). I travel a lot, read, write and spend a lot of time out of doors hiking,climbing and (soon) skiing and snowboarding. I like people who know how to have a good time. I enjoy clubbing and swing dancing and (gasp!) ballroom. I am not much of a partier, I like parties but get bored with the idea of getting drunk or stoned so unfortunately I don't find many parties I want to attend. I like a good conversation. In order to be good though, it has to have a point! Preferably one I don't agree with!Having fun is very important to me. I love my down time and my play time. I have learned that the best fun is to be had after a long hard day's work.One of the biggest influences on my life was Socrates.While a quote doesn't really do justice to an idea, here are a few that have helped shaped my life"The unexamined life is not worth living."..................... I am constantly examining myself and my life, trying to challenge my ideas, preconceptions and prejudices. Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference! The rewards of self-examination go much farther than stopping breast / testicular cancer......................."The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing."When you are aware of your own ignorance, tolerance of people and ideas that annoy you is much easier. All people, even the intolerant, should be tolerated. Tolerance however should have limits. These limits can be summed up with the statement..."Your rights end where mine begin."
