Even at a young age, Parker was performing for anyone and everyone she could. She recalls, “I would sing for anyone that would listen—family and friends—I loved every minute of it. I just loved to sing.†But it was when she started performing at local events and festivals that people really began to take notice. Her uncharacteristically mature style and her ability to connect with her audience became an instant hit. It wasn’t long before a few performances around town escalated to performances throughout the state and country. Touring with a local performing arts group, Parker sang at venues throughout the nation. In a matter of time, people from Kentucky to California were buzzing about the little girl with the big voice. “Through all the touring and performing, I realized really quickly that this is what I wanted to do,†she explains. “Being able to sing for all of those people, realizing that I had the ability to reach my audience in the way that I did—I just knew I was born to do this.â€
