Band Members: Fred Stucky all guitarsTony Bello all percussion
Influences: Inluences change over time. Early on it was probably the gun club and elvis's sun sessions. As time went by the greats were more influential--Merle Haggerd, The Carter Family, Gram Parsons, Exile/Beggars era Stones, Mississippi John Hurt, Fats Waller, as well as alot of the obscure artists recorded on the library of congress/asch recordings.
Sounds Like: From High Bias "Playing unrefined, rocking honky-tonk with the Stones' looseness and Hank Williams' sincerity, the trio (plus guests) bangs out tunes like "Nashville Hotel," "Ballad of Tom Smith" and "All Alone (In My Honky Tonk World)" like last call has passed and the dawn is creeping in. The band can rock, too, as on "Dixie Girl." Waylon Jennings would've been proud. Michael Toland [buy it]"
From Miles of Music "On their 2nd release, 22 Dollars, Gas Money offer a range of raw alt. country tunes that swing from loose acoustic hootenanny ballads to growling roadhouse rockers; sometimes within the same song."
Record Label: no label but we'd love to be on bloodshot !
