I like to take gig photos, especially of my favourites. If you want to look some of them can be found here. There are HEAPS I haven't yet put up. Hopefully I will one day, but then, I'll probably run out of space. I'd like to point out that they are a mixture of decent, shit and something in between. I'm an amateur at best. Hell, I don't even have my own camera! I have to borrow one.

As of late Oct 07. It's a proper one - a digital SLR! So I have no excuse to use the flash anymore. But now it's even harder to take pictures that are in focus because of the usually crap lighting they have in most of these little venues (and the fact that these guys tend to move around a lot). Oh well, at least the colours are prettier now and I'm not blinding people anymore. I just need to learn how to use the damn thing properly. That's right, I have NO IDEA what I'm doing!!
I have also taken some photos for The Dwarf .
UPDATE: I've got a few of Dallas Crane now too. They're not that great though because their smoke machine made it too..... smoky.

And 13 years after Hothouse Flowers last toured here I got some of them too. Long time coming! Yay!!!! :)
UPDATE: I got some of the Kremlin Wolf Killers (aka 67 Special) and The Exploders last night. Goddamn we got some amazing bands here!!!

UPDATE: I got some of the Beasts Of Bourbon now too!! You can see right up Tex's nose!!! (If you're into that sort of thing).
UPDATE: Freshly added new photos of YOU AM I. Three nights in a row. It doesn't get any better than that (unless it's more than three nights in a row). The greatest band of all time!!!!!
Now, about the last lot of photos. The photos from the two Forum shows aren't the best. The 1st night half of them were taken without the flash. The 2nd night there was no flash used at all - wasn't allowed to use it. So there's mixed results there. I did the best I could.
UPDATE: I took some new ones of Sean Kelly with Rosie Westbrook on the weekend. Sean is SOOO COOOOL!!!!! :)
I hope he gets a myspace and website soon!

UPDATE: I went on a TNT (that's Tim Rogers & Tex Perkins for those of you who don't know) spree over four nights. It's like great music and a comedy show in one. I have photos from all four nights. Now I miss them and have withdrawls. Such truely amazing shows! Wonderful experiences and memories!!!!!! :)
UPDATE: Once again I saw YOU AM I three times in a row this past weekend. Outstanding shows and on the first night I finally got to meet Andy and Rusty, which means I've now met them all!! So happpy..... :)
UPDATE: Yet again I got to see YOU AM I three times in a row, this time in NSW. I went up to Sydney for the Homebake Festival on Dec 2 and before I left additional shows were announced for the two days before. So I also saw them in Terrigal (on the NSW central coast) and then at a "secret" show they did at a small pub called the Hopetoun Hotel in Surry Hills, Sydney which was astounding!!! Not only was the show free but we all got a free shot of tequila (although I got 2 because my friend didn't want his) and a free souvenir poster as well!!! All for just standing in line - 3 hours for me. And on top of all that Rusty got out from behind the drums to sing You Must Fight To Live On The Planet Of The Apes!!!... while Davey played drums!!!! I think that was officially the greatest YAI show I've ever seen (so far). It was THAT AMAZING!!! Of course I got lots of photos, although the Homebake ones aren't so great because I was too far away. I really need a better camera.
UPDATE: There are new MODELS photos up now. I'm very pleased to say that I managed to get some decent ones without using the flash, but only because there was an occasional brighter light. If only all gigs had that - it was so helpful!! It was a great show where they played the whole Local and/or General album, plus extras. Everyone loved it and they looked like they were having quite a bit of fun themselves. :)
UPDATE: New photos of Tim and the Temperance Union are up. Also ones of Even (with Davey Lane playing a few songs with them). A hot, sweaty night where Tim didn't strip!! *shock*
UPDATE: More new photos of Tim and the Temperance Union and Dallas Crane (not on the stage together at the same time mind you - shame about that really). Amazing night!!!! My photos don't do it justice.
UPDATE: Photos up of the Tim (Rogers) & Louis (Macklin) show!! Magnificent shows!!! - with Tim in top crooner form and Louis adding his piano magic. I went to all four Victorian shows but only got pictures at the first one in Geelong. The other three shows were at Melbourne's Bennetts Lane Jazz Club and it wasn't really appropriate to use the flash there, being a classier joint with a certain atmosphere and all that. One day I will have this new camera and do some proper photo taking!!!
I put a select few in my pictures section too. Now that you can put up more than 12 pictures I will - eventually.
Alas, I have no musical talent myself. :(
