Make 'Em Sweat Promotions

All my life I have been fascinated with muscle and have been involved in the Wellness lifestyle one way or another. I have always been active in sports and started lifting at thirteen. Ironman Magazine did a feature on me called “Love at First Lift” that pretty much says it all—I do love lifting weights. Because of my work with beautiful women they also did a feature on me called “Having Fun at Fifty” which, because of the age, really means a lot to me. Over twenty years, I coached numerous sports ranging from youth leagues all the way up to varsity softball. I hung up my coaching cap to become a certified personal trainer doing a lot of traveling with models and meeting models for training. In the process of doing this I discovered I was very good at networking and developing models careers.As a developer of models careers I have been very successful. I really enjoy helping a model create an image and the challenge of making her famous. The best part of this is the joy and smile it brings to her face, that’s my trophy and what makes it all worthwhile! Many fitness models have been referred to me for advice on their look and to get to the next level. Models tell me they were told to contact me by other models to help them with their look for their modeling careers which is the greatest complement you can have and, in my opinion, the best measuring stick of your success. I have helped many models get magazine features and covers either through my contacts, photography, or writing about them. I have run numerous photo shoots throughout the country for magazine covers and features and each time I have learned more about models, photographers, and the fitness industry, which has helped me tremendously as a writer. Years ago I had studied 35mm photography from the New York Institute of Photography, so I started doing candid shots at some of the shoots. Shooting the models that I was so close to lead to some great shots and helped me develop my eye. Creating shots like this made me want to develop my photography skills even more, so I made the leap to a digital camera and I never looked back.My career as a writer started when I decided to write model profiles for my models telling of their unique qualities that separated them from the other models leading to me to choose them as Make ‘Em Sweat Divas for my website. It was surprising to hear these successful women getting excited over what I had to say about them, and that made me want to write even more. I had found a new passion! Next I started interviewing my models and found they opened up to me and the connection we had showed in the interview. I met Jim Rainey of BodyTalk Magazine when he hired one of my models to work an Olympia Expo and started writing for him and shooting the fitness events. Jim and I are close friends and the magazine grew in size since we have been working together. It is no longer published and I will miss working with Jim on it and working at the BOSS booth for Fitness Expos. I also wrote for Status Fitness Magazine but soon realized I want to be more independent which allows me to be more creative with my writing and write what I want, about who I want then submit to the right magazine. Writing and shooting for the magazines and my website has given me many opportunities to help top models and actresses plus introduce new talent. I really love what I do and I look forward to sharing with you my experiences.Jeff Hammond
