About Me

From a young age, Emma's love of music has grown. "I remember my dad playing snippets of vinyl records and asking me to guess the artist or song. This game started when I was about 3 or 4. He still does it to me today".
Her love of music was nurtured by her father who introduced her to a wide variety of styles and artists. "Whether it be Lindisfarne or Iron Maiden, my Dad has an album to suit any mood".
Although she always wanted to sing, Emma chose the academic route, with a degree in Marketing and Languages before qualifying as a Paralegal.
Fate dealt a lucky hand in 2007 and paired her at work with singer, Jen Pryce, who encouraged her to pursue her music.
"To have people who truly supported me was something new. Obviously my parents and sisters are always there for me but someone external to that was new. I would come into work and chatter about the gig I saw the previous night. Living in Glasgow gives a great opportunity to see acts big and small. Jen was the first person who suggested it could be me".
Finally taking the plunge and writing her own material, she has come so far in a short time.
" I always wanted to sing, but to sing I need my own songs, for my own songs, I need to play guitar. Don't get me wrong - I never want to be a guitarist!" With comparisons to Joni Mitchell and Lindsay Buckingham, Emma's style harks back to the earlier singer/songwriters.
"Hearing my demos come together in the studio has been my reward so far". Her demos having been recorded in July 2008 at JSB Studios in Surrey with JS Baylin.

pretty much anything and everything you ever hear, like or loathe it, has an influence on you.I listen to a lot of different genres of music which hopefully gives a varied sound to my own music

just another day

so that was me another year older yesterday ..... am i another year wiser? ...... i'm not so sure .... we'll see......it was a good day, nothing particularly special, but that suits me ...... whenever...

looking forward

so it's nearly the end of january already ...... i always feel the year doesn't really get started til my birthday next month but this january has gone really quick ......i'm keeping busy at the momen...

...... and with only 2 more sleeps i'm feeling quite good ..... all presents are bought, wrapped and under various trees ..... i only worry that we will be unable to get into our lounge on christ...
