Il progetto, che prenderà poi il nome di LUCKY BASTARDZ, nasce sul tour bus dei Secret Sphere durante il loro tour 07/08 in nord Europa.
L’idea di fondare una nuova band Rock’n’Roll venne quasi per gioco, tra una birra e una sigaretta, a PACO (chitarrista ritmico dei Secret) e a GEPPO (cantante e compositore del progetto darkwave Fisheye con un passato come singer della gothic metal band Triora, che in tour svolgeva la funzione di responsabile del merchandise) durante i viaggi da una città all’altra, dato il comune amore dei due per il genere.
Concluso il tour, quello che sembrava uno scherzo divenne realtà verso Maggio '08, quando entrano in gioco EVAN L.A. (bassista noto nell'ambiente hard rock/metal alessandrino per militanze in varie cover bands) e poco dopo anche PIPPO (batterista della band metalcore Five Days Of Rain).
Con questa prima formazione la band inizia a scrivere da subito materiale proprio, con PACO autore della maggior parte del songwriting, e GEPPO dei testi e di alcuni arrangiamenti.
A Luglio la band esce anche a livello live, con alcune esibizioni nell'alessandrino e nel pavese.
Ad Agosto i BASTARDZ entrano negli Authoma Studios di Federico Pennazzato per incidere un promo che chiarisce subito come la band concepisca il Rock'n'Roll: ruvido e tirato, sporco e grezzo, influenzato sopra ogni altra cosa dai padri del genere, i Motorhead.
Il promo viene distribuito ai concerti, che da Luglio a Ottobre diventano sempre più frequenti, ottenendo ottimi consensi tra il pubblico.
Verso la fine di Ottobre 2008, dopo una data al Thunder Road davanti ad un minino di 500 persone, PIPPO decide di lasciare la band dati i crescenti impegni con il suo progetto metalcore. Lo split è amichevole e il vuoto dietro le pelli viene subito colmato da MR. IMMORALE, batterista attivo nelle mondo delle cover bands alessandrine.
Dopo alcune date dall'alta affluenza di pubblico (tra le altre, la Metal Maniac Night a Cuneo), MR. IMMORALE e costretto a lasciare la band a causa dei suoi impegni lavorativi, e viene subito sostituito da MARK(batterista noto per progetti originali e cover bands).
Con questo nuovo e talentuoso batterista, tra Marzo ed Aprile '09, la band rientra agli Authoma Studios per incidere il loro album di debutto (ancora non uscito) senza pero rallentare l'attivita live per tutto il nord Italia.

The project, which will be known as LUCKY BASTARDZ, began to take his shape on Secret Sphere’s tour bus during their 07/08 tour in Northern Europe.
The idea of founding a new Rock’n’Roll band came, almost as a joke between smoking another cigarette and drinking another beer, from the minds of PACO (Secret Sphere’s rhythm guitarist) and GEPPO (singer and composer of darkwave project Fisheye with a past as the vocalist of goth metal band Triora, in charge of the band's merchandise on tour) while travelling towards the next city, mainly because their mutual love for the genre.
After the tour was over, what started out as a simple joke became real in May ’08, when EVAN L.A. (bass player know in the Alessandria area for being member of various hard rock and metal projects) and PIPPO (drummer of metalcore act Five Days Of Rain) both joined the band.
With this line-up they started to write their own material, with PACO in charge of most of the songwriting and GEPPO author of the lyrics and some arrangements.
In July the band began to play shows in the Alessandria and Pavia areas.
In August the BASTARDZ entered Federico Pennazzato’s Authoma Studios to record a promo disc that clearly states how the guys consider Rock’n’Roll: their style is rough and fast, raw and dirty, influenced by, naming but one, the genre’s godfathers, Motorhead.
The promo is given away at the numerous shows played from July to October, with good attendances and even better reviews.
At the end of October ’08, after a show in front of at least 500 people at the Thunder Road, PIPPO decides to leave the band due to his increasing commitments with his other metalcore band. The split is friendly and the new drummer, MR. IMMORALE (active in local cover bands), is soon found.
After some successful shows (among others the Metal Maniac Night in Cuneo), MR. IMMORALE has to quit the band due to his job, and once again a new drummer, MARK (active in both cover & original bands), is found almost immediately.
With this new and incredibly talented drummer during March and April ’09 the BASTARDZ went back to the Authoma Studios, this time to recorded their full length debut album, yet to be released, without decreasing their live activity all across the North of Italy.
