About Me

I was founded on November 3, 1989 at Stony Brook University in Long Island, New York. Gamma Ce Upsilon Sorority Inc. is the FIRST Non-Greek Latina Sorority in the country, and has been the first Latina Sorority at all three of her chapters- Stony Brook University, Lehman College, and Hunter College. Gamma Ce Upsilon Sorority Inc. was founded upon five ideologies, they are personified by every sister and are reflected in every aspect of our sorority: 1) Sisterhood 2) Culture 3) Femininity 4) Organizational Skills 5) Community Service Being of Latin decent is NOT a requirement for membership, we ask every woman who should like to become a sister to understand and acknowledge the struggle of the Latin Woman.
