About Me

Maxx was a German/Swedish Eurodance act who had major international success in 1994. After having already recorded a German cover version of Snow's "Informer", rapper Boris Köhler teamed up with O-Jay of Real McCoy to produce "Get-A-Way". Boris, under the stage-name of Gary B, performed the ragamuffin rap and a female singer called Alice Montana laid down the vocals for the chorus. It was a huge dancefloor hit all over Europe, peaking at 4 in the UK singles chart in June 1994. It sold more than 400:000 units in Germany alone and reached Gold Status. Throughout Europe it sold more than 1:100:000 units. "Get-A-Way" earned numerous gold discs. Linda Meek was hired to replace Alice Montana and to re-sing the second single that was to be released "No More (I Can't Stand It)", which reached 8 in the UK charts. Next to be released was the album "To The Maxximum" which reached 22 in the UK Albums chart and later in the same year a third single "You Can Get It" was released reaching 21. In 1995 2 futher singles were released: "I Can Make You Feel Like" and "Move Your Body" but neither managed to make the UK Top 40 singles chart...
