Hey everyone, and welcome to my music myspace. My name is Kilian Duarte and I am a 21 year old senior at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Ma. I am a business major but my concentration and passion is as a performing modern Bassist. Multi faceted in many instruments i currently play every form of Electric Bass (including fretted, fretless and extended range instruments) as well as Guitar and Mandolin. I have been playing bass since i was twelve years old and have had the privelage to make it my life's passion and work. As of now I have played in everything from Jazz big Bands to Heavy rock and funk groups from Florida to New england. I have been fortunate to have studied with greats such as Matthew Garrison (Paul Simon, Herbie Hancock) Bruce Gertz( Dave Brubeck, Stan Getz) as well as Jim Stinnett ( teacher to Mike Gordon of Phish as well as Steve Bailey). I have been featured as of now on 8 records as well as being an active member of the New England music scene and an active student of the Berklee community. This Myspace is primarily dedicated to showcase my works that i have done in the fields of solo bass. all the recordings, except for the ones that are obviously ensemble, are solo bass works that i have been fortunate enough to record over the past 3 years. None of the sound you hear apart from the drums on the solo tracks are anything but bass guitar, through effects of course at times, but only using the one instrument.
