I am Karen Coleman, I have been a singer my whole life, and am still as passionate about it as ever. I have been singing backing vocals with The Commitments for many years now, and have had the pleasure performing alongside Dennis Edwards, Steve Cropper, James Brown, Andrew and Rob Strong.One day my soul just opened up to create my first solo album, "Tapestry of She". This album holds the elements of love, passion, anger, and happiness. It also is about being a mother, a daughter, and a mother to my daughter.
Too many of us are hung up on what we don't have, can't have, or won't ever have. We spend too much energy being down, when we could use that same energy -- if not less of it -- doing, or at least trying to do, some of the things we really want to do. Your willingness to look at your darkness is what empowers you to change. Breathe. Let go. and remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure.
