PERSONAL EXPERIENCES, A LITTLE NOSTALGIA AND MY IMAGINATION...I wrote "Real N****s" one evening while sitting in my car in North Oakland after a studio session. I parked on MLK underneath the Bart railway just outside a BBQ restaurant and stared at the liquor store on the corner across the street where I used to hang out with my younger cousin. As I watched others do the same I was reminded of a younger me and began to reflect.

"Change The Subject" began as a YouTube 16 bar performance. It was written to a production that I had already recorded a song to but was incomplete, due to a guest feature who had yet to write is verse. At no fault of the guest appearance, I was not satisfied with the track which was originally titled "The World Is Mine". To me, it was mediocre at best. So, I decided to change the subject!

"We Can Kick It" was fun! The first verse was just a run through, experimenting with the character. Once I found it I was reminded of Bootsy Collins so I said f--- it and just ran with it.

At the time "Crowd Control" was created I was very impressed with the showmanship of Hip-Hop/Rap artists Jay-Z and Eminem. Particularly the way they were able to create the feel of addressing a live audience while in a recording studio due to the fact that they had already done it. I've always believed that captivating a crowd of thousands was one of the greatest achievements a recording artist could have the pleasure of experiencing. At that moment you've exceeded being a mere 'recording artist' and have grown into something much more and I wanted to capture that feel.

"Hell On Earth" is one of the most personal autobiography songs I've written. The memories surrounding this song are everlasting.I grew up on Ice Cube, The D.O.C., DJ Quik, Ice-T, Too $hort, 2Pac, Scarface, E-40 & The Click, Mac Mall, C-Bo, Public Enemy, The Beastie Boys, Run DMC, KRS One, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, Heavy D, The Heiroglyphics and Redman.First Rap album I ever purchased... DJ Quik 'Quik Is The Name'. Second... Ice Cube 'Death Certificate. Third... Too $hort 'Short Dogs In The House'. The rest is history.
