Delta Waves

Delta Waves, (a band who's just getting off the ground), is made up of Dana Munson, David Burrows and Vaughn Leikam. David and Dana met at a drum gig and agreed to make some music. They were missing a bassist, but they decided to endure anyway. Some months later, Vaughn came in to the picture with some crunchy bass lines and the whole thing just clicked. Songs began coming out of the minds of these young individuals, and thus came the ambient and progressive sound that many people in Bend have grown quite fond of.
A delta wave is a high amplitude brain wave with a frequency of 1-4 Hertz which can be recorded with an electroencephalogram (EEG) and is usually associated with slow-wave sleep.Delta wave activity occurs most frequently during stage 4 non-rapid eye movement sleep accounting for 50% or more of the EEG record during this stage.Delta wave activity during slow-wave sleep declines during adolescence.Large amounts of delta wave activity are not common in healthy adults during the waking state. However multiple studies have indicated the presence of increased delta activity in adults during states of intoxication or delirium and those diagnosed with dementia or schizophrenia.
