Chris Valley (is recording the new album!)

About Me

""With all the monotonous sounds on the radio today, Chris Valley stands out, and gives a reason to listen to music again. Growing up in the heart of Port Richmond, Chris brings to his music what Philly is known for nationwide, brutal honesty and passion without shame or contempt. This passion, along with sheer talent, has made me not only a fan of his, but a fan of music altogether once more.
Anything you want to know about Chris can be found in his music, both in his catchy, heartfelt lyrics and superior guitar playing (most noticeable when playing lead guitar for his current band Beat Valley or as a guest guitarist to other bands such as Adam Richman, Sage Francis, Relient K, and Sugarcult, just to name a few). Chris' talents and lack of shame allow him to relive his fondest memories and hardest moments through music. And this feat has not gone unnoticed to true music fans, even if he hasn't always gotten the credit for it. He has written songs and/or co written songs for such bands as The Ataris, Weston, Adam Richman, and Steadfast (again just to name a few). Now, with the making of his first solo CD, Chris has the chance to get the recognition he should have received years ago.
Music is everything to Chris, making it literally impossible to list his outside hobbies, except for if you count Flyers' hockey. And even that he incorporates into his music, offering it to be a reason to for his friend's girlfriend not to move to Minnesota in, “Hope Left That Town When the Northstars Did.”
Chris can be found playing guitar everywhere. As a teacher, Chris incorporates music into the classroom by teaching through songs and showing students the importance of creativity and expressing one's self through music. Chris (Mr. Brady to his students) strives to make music fun to sing, clap, and maybe even dance to while actually having something important to say, and HE SUCCEEDS in his efforts.
Although Chris Valley's songs, are extremely personal, they are 100% relatable without being cheesy or cliche. He brings a new voice and tone to the same old stories of being in love, being in the slumps, being called the “villain,” and being able to find the strength to face the most difficult challenges life throws your way and stick things out until they get better.
Whether hearing him play live during his current tri-state area tour or blasting his CD in the car and in the house, I found myself singing along to life's ups and downs… and having fun doing it. His fanbase continues to grow, which is no easy task in this area, and I have no doubt that the fan base will continue to grow even more with his upcoming shows throughout Philadelphia and New Jersey. Chris Valley's life is an open song that you don't want to stop playing. Believe in music again, listen to Chris Valley.""
