Danny Steel

Danny was born in Reykjavík 1982. On his fourth birthday he moved to Germany with his family, but always staying connected with his home country. His interest for music started quite early. After having started some small project as a young teenager, he started to focus on being a DJ by the age of 15. Beginning with small equipment, he fast upgraded his skills and his DJ equipment.When Danny was 18 years old, he was already a regional known booking DJ in the area between Frankfurt and Mannheim in Germany. After finishing school with the German „Abitur“ he founded his own company „woinem Sound&Light crew GbR“ together with four friends. This company provided around and light equipment, DJ services, event management and car sound systems. The equipment included a fleet of bass boxes, speakers, mirror and moving head scanners, UV-guns, Pal Systems, DMX control equipment, CD player, turntables, mixers, magnifier, and much more. This went hand with hand with his studies of mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt. Danny financed his whole studies, rent etc. by providing his DJ skills at huge parties, companies and nightclubs all over Germany. During this time, his music repertoire became huge including almost all kinds of music.Impressed by the great nightlife and culture in Ibiza, Danny became an annual act on this party island, playing most of the time in the club Punta Arabi in Es Cana, but also at places like the Bora Bora beach or Café del Mar. In the year 2006 he stayed as resident for six months in Ibiza, playing six nights a week. During this time he expanded his repertoire with House Music, the main music in Ibiza and learned at the „Vibra DJ School“. Back in Germany he worked together with the label „BrandNeu GmbH“ (Loco Dice), the „Studio 54“ party tour, „StilEcht Event GmbH“ and started his own „Athene ist sexy“ party tour (by Athene, the Greek god of wisdom).His strong connection to Iceland made Danny move back to his home island in summer of 2007. The last months he used to increase his Icelandic, work as an engineer and integrate himself into the society. But the love to music never stopped, so soon new decks were bought and remixes were made in the north. Now Danny is ready for new challenges in Iceland, starting again the first time since many years unknown in the country and nightlife. The challenge is to make himself a known name in the Icelandic nightlife, improve his unique style and experience and enjoy doing the thing he loves most in his favorite country.More info and discography on www.dannysteel.de
