About Me

Hey...I'm Alex, 25, from Boston, MA, a graduate of Georgetown University and a student in the USC Graduate School of Cinematic arts. I'm a mix of Polish, Irish and English (...and I'm sure my exceptionally debauched ancestors dallied in the area of some other European denominations too). I enjoy writing, sports, literature, movies, making independent films, dating, partying, acting immature, acting scholarly, going to the beach, playing pool, music, politics, arts, drawing and other larks of that sort. In terms of what I do, I'm a film student in the exceptional MFA graduate film program at USC and a freelance writer, seeking the greatness that remains, still, so tantalizing near..._____________________________________________________ A Brief Biography of Alex's Life (not to be taken seriously):Alex lived in squalor for much of his early life with a sister named Esmé (whom he secretly loved) in a termite-fested hovel in South Boston, where he would often sit and wonder if Goethe was also a victim of rent control, until he finally got up and walked next door to ask him. (I stole that joke from Greg Atwan's live journal).During his teens, Alex made frequent visits to his grandfather’s military compound, where the elder Pickering regaled his company with tales of shooting down German airplanes. The previous years had been particularly lucrative, and landed him a high place in the burgeoning terrorist network.Alex wrote articles for “Red Book” for much of his early career, until he was accepted to Georgetown on an ice-fishing scholarship. Feasting for a creative idea or avenue to explore, he reportedly saw a vision of Ernest Hemingway speaking before him in a dream (a nice departure from Hulk Hogan), “You must follow in my footsteps.” On his way to the Walmart gun section the next day, it occurred to Alex that Hemingway probably meant for him to pursue a creative dream. In the spring of his junior year, he was approached by Chris Boucher to surrender his Canon XL-1 digital camcorder, a family heirloom handed down from George Washington to Colonel Timothy “That Damn” Pickering for his victory at the Battle of the Bulge. Alex decided to play devil’s advocate, a board game based upon the popular aphorism, and finally resolved to go along with Boucher and assume the role of Executive Producer. The irony is…Alex is serious about most of his biography. Well, no not really, but he appreciates the chance to tell a little about himself and cope with the demons tormenting him inside (particularly a really nasty one named Manfred that’s giving him indigestion).
Your Theme Song is Back in Black by AC/DC
"Back in black, I hit the sack,
I've been too long, I'm glad to be back"
Things sometimes get really crazy for you, and sometimes you have to get away from all the chaos.
But each time you stage your comeback, it's even better than the last! What's Your Theme Song?
You Are Spider-Man
Quick and agile, you have killer instincts (literally).
And that kind of makes up for the whole creepy spider thing. What Superhero Are You?I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

The Picture

Yes, I put that vain image of me back up.  Don't give me those looks, damn you.  I'm trying to go with a black-and-white motif on my page--probably given my recent interest in George Stevens...

Super Bowl

Yeah, the Pats are out of it.  But we can still all join in our hatred of the Colts by tuning in Sunday and watching them go down, right? Oh yes...They will go down.
