Rudi Fischerlehner, born 1977 in the Austrian countryside,
works as a drummer and composer in the fields between rock, jazz, improvised
and experimental music.
He got involved with music in his childhood, playing weddings and funerals.
As a teenager he started to play in Rockbands, do self-made Jazz/Impro-evenings
in local underground clubs and study classical percussion at the conservatory
in Linz for some time. After finishing school he moved to Vienna, where he has
been a member of Indierock-Bands Blendwerk and Roh.
After shorter stays in New York and a journey through
Africa he ended up living mostly in Berlin. Living there he got the chance to
play with lots of great improvisers from all around the globe, he writes for
his quartet Pinx and tours around Europe with his bands and runs a little record-label
called Farai-Records.
