I'm a Daughter of the King who is striving to know Him more each day. I know Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. Life is knowing Him (Jn. 17:3) and I am nothing without Him. I am the wife of an amazing man (Mark) who is everything I need here on earth. I love reading and writing because I believe that words have more power than some people would like to admit. I love to shop, specifically at Gap & Banana Republic, which is why my bank account suffers. Fall is my favorite season because I like the colors. I miss Publix because they have the worlds best Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream. I am convinced that my dog, Andy, is the smartest and cutest canine on the planet. Cuban food rocks! I have been to Europe and could spend my whole life there. I love road trips and exploring new places. Key West is like a second home to me. I still like all things Disney. I have lived in two places that most people only visit. I am done waiting for life to start - I'm living it.
I graduated from Flagler College in Spring '06 with a BA in English. I got married to the love of my life 7-14-07 and we live in Conway, SC where I teach middle school English.
Christianity is often assumed to be a list of do's and don'ts for people who need some kind of ruler against which to live their lives - as if being a Christian means doing certain things (such as going to church) and not doing other things (drinking/partying). The truth is, this is not Christianity at all. A Christian is one who has been born again, saved by God's grace through believing on His son, Jesus Christ. God's grace is transforming in a person's life, and the lifestyle changes are a response to God's grace in salvation. So Christianity is not about what we do and don't do, it is about what Jesus has DONE. The Christian's life should look different from the world, yes, but this is not because we are under a set of rules, it is because God has changed/is changing us, from the inside out. The difference is an effect of God's transforming work in us. This is why I strive to serve Him, it is the only response I have to the God who has already done so much for me.
