Erick Vega was born and raised in El Paso, TX & now resides in PHX AZ. After losing in the 04 Western trials Erick Vega advaced to the Olympic Qualifiers in Rio De Janeiro Brazil by winning a spot on the Mexican Olympic Team. After a good run and almost qualifying for the 2004 Olympics despite having only started boxing in March of 2001; Erick Vega now has begun to stake his claim for a world championship in professional boxing! ___My Goal as a professional is very basic and that is to become a world champion. A lot of fighters of course set out to do that, but honestly if I felt any apprehension or doubt about that I would hang them up and would of never turned pro. Its not even about the money, though money never hurts, It’s about the ultimate and purest form of competition – 1 on 1, no one there to help you but YOU. There is a lot of sacrifice involved in the fight game but in the end it will all be worth it!_________________________________________________________
__I’ve always been very competitive with absolutely EVERYTHING…..in school I always wanted to be the fastest and strongest but not only that I also wanted to be the smartest and toughest which has contributed vastly to who I am but I am also humble. I had a very different experience growing up. In Jr High and High school I was a little guy, though I knew I would eventually grow to be somewhat tall it never happened, at least not till after college at about 22 years old. Football was my passion in JR and Highschool but because of my size I missed out, so I wrestled on the varsity squad for 3 years. I learned from that experience and it taught me to never underestimate anyone and that anything could change, also it taught me that real TOUGHNESS comes from the heart and that the Mind CONTROLS it all. So now its time to put it all together, all of life’s experiences and lessons along with Dynamite Training @ the quest(www.fittquest.com) and WIN A WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!!______________________________________________
