About Me

I love to play in any music situation that challenges myself as well as making the whole project I'm involved in sound and be as professional as possible. I take my guitar playing ability serious as it is something that not everyone can do well, at a high level and in a public or recording environment. I have respect for all levels of musicians who strive to become better and enjoy being entertained by a performance as well as performing. First impressions are forever so I'm serious at rehearsal and homework to make the live show one that they will never forget and have alot of fun doing it! I'm always looking for jam sessions or jam situations. I have a day gig so I'm not influenced by the almighty dollar but if I can make some change by playing music that's always a plus. I'm up for original material as well as covers as long as it's a fun and positive vibe. The compositions that I've uploaded are original electric guitar based instrumentals with a jazz fusion flavor. I recorded all the instruments myself using Sonic Foundry Sound Forge, Sonic Foundry Vegas and Cool Edit Pro. I used the Carvin Holdsworth exclusively as the main guitar for this recording. I've played working gigs in trios and quartets as well as solo acoustic guitar from the Central Coast down by Monterey and Santa Cruz to the Central Valley and around the Bay Area in San Francisco, Berkeley and Oakland as well as here in San Jose in clubs, casuals, fairs and festivals. I've handled lead vocals and background vocals, can nail high, mids, medium and low harmonies. I have my own pro gear. For my "A" rig, I run 2 Fender Cyber Deluxes, Fender Stratocasters, Carvin Holdsworth, Gary Kramer 36 Fret, 7 String Turbulence Delta Wings, Gary Kramer 6 String Simulator Delta Wing, SM58 and 57 Betas and floor monitor systems. My "B" rig consists of a Fender Studio Lead with Boss and DOD pedals. My Acoustic Solo rig consists of a Roland Street Cube, Ovation Tangent and a Boss looping pedal.

My Interests

Music:

Influences: I cut my teeth on Van Halen 1 and listened to many of the other guitarists from that era. Along with Michael Schenker and Uli Jon Roth, I also listened to a great deal of the Electric Jazz Fusion era ensembles and artists including Return To Forever, Chick Corea's Electric Band, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Allan Holdsworth, Tribal Tech, Scott Henderson, Al DiMeola, Frank Gambale, Shawn Lane, John McLaughlin and Bill Connors. My current favorite is Eric Johnson and I always put on Jimi for the X-Factor. I also enjoy thick grooves that early funk bands like EWF, Brick, Dazz Band and The Gap Band brought to the table with Prince as the Rock and Funk crossover. Can't forget about Bootsy baby along with the Funkateers Michael Hampton, Mudbone Cooper and remember...Eddie Hazel Lives! My musical interests also encompass the outstanding compositions of Steve Coleman and the 5 Elements who's odd meter work have been very influential to my musical approach along with the M Base Collective and Frederik Thordendal's Special Defects.
