De Gier Guitars and Basses

About Me

Back in 1995 Sander de Gier started working as an apprentice with Dutch luthier Robberts. There he developed his skills in building and repairing guitars. A year later he started his own company. The first years he focussed on repairs and custom orders for guitars and basses. This was a great period to study all the different aspects of different guitars, how to build them, how to repair them. How come the way they play and sound the way they sound. Those years form the background from where Sander launched his first own designs.
Like with other brands these designs are continually being worked at, perfected. So after building prototypes, and then several first models, and seconds and thirds, we are now at a place where we can offer 4 own designs, 4 unique instruments. They are unique in the way they are constructed, and in the way they sound. We produce small series of each type, so even though you could speak of a ‘production’ guitar there is still a lot of handwork involved. And therefore there are still many custom options possible as in every custom shop. What do you get? A handmade custom guitar with amazing musical qualities, built by a small team of skilled guitar-freaks.
