One foggy morning, Sylvia was wandering the coast of Maine collecting seashells when she noticed a bottle floating in the water. She waded in and found that the bottle had a message inside of it from a girl in England named Nelly. Nelly, trapped between London and the Countryside, had written a desperate message detailing her need for a kindred soul and had thrown it into the ocean after carefully sealing it up in a large Laudanum bottle. Sylvia, believing in fate and the mysterious ways of the universe, wrote a message in reply and a friendship was born.
Over the weeks that followed they exchanged wax phonograph cylinders and lyrics through a complicated relay system with the help of some kindly sea creatures and they slowly, but surely, began to create the folksy electro music for which they are now known.
For years, people have been working on music with either a partner or alone. This duo is very different. They depend on writing their ideas to each other with the source of technology and recording their music oceans apart. Their accents are different, but their minds work as one; their upbringings are different, but their passion is the same. Many experiences and stories are dying to be told through the lyrics of the new electric wave of sounds and only time will tell if all of stories will be heard.
