Band Members: I have just finished recording 'The Dream Fairy'. This story is inspired by endless nights attempting to get my son to sleep. I don't know why he disliked going to sleep, or being on his own at night, but he did. It ended up me and my husband taking turns to hold his hand and even then when we'd creep away from the bed, we'd be half way to the door and he'd say 'hand'.
So, as I practise deep relaxation, I used it as a form of bed time story. It is a fairy story which at the end of the story, children are invited to go and dance and play with the dream faries and be protected and safe all night long. The one rule though, is that children have to keep their eyes shut, if they want the faries to join them in their dreams. I have found that usually children will fight off sleep, even if they are really tired and usually the more tired the parent is, the more they will fight going to sleep!! So this is a half hour story which will help them to relax and feel safe and allow them to have a wonderful nights sleep.
