Dirty Little Thing - "Scream Until You Like It! Then Scream Some Fuckin' More!" Part 2
So it's the Autumn of 2006, and DLT have Just finished of a Summer Tour of Hampshire, the Hot Candy EP is due to be recorded In late October, and Phil, after his long time with Dirty Little Thing, decides to leave the band, due to the progressive tastes the music of DLT is enjoying. So as you can imagine, the first thing on DLTs mind was "SHIT! We need a new guitarist!". Soon after, as Gooner was on Holiday, Karl was doing the usual weekend party scout, and ended up at Woody's. It was there, on that night, on a simple booze mission to Tesco that he put the offer out to Woody, asking him to be DLTs new rhythm guitarist, and cause of the current state, decided it was time we got a independent Singer/Frontman. So for this task, Karl invited Gareth on-board. Lucky for Karl, Gooner & Lew, They accepted His offer and they were well on their way to becoming a new band.
DLT headed into the studio in the October of 2006 with the two new members, Woody & Jackoby to record "HOT CANDY" , there first EP. They came out in early November, taking them just two weeks to record the EP. In the December of that year, DLT were awarded the Delta FM rock show & Astra music shop award for "Best Newcomers". That award set the tone for the amazing schedule they had lined up for themselves in 2007. This was to be the launching platform and the real thing they had wanted, A Dirty Little Tour of the south of England.
It was one of a kind, DLT exploded onto the scene with an impact no one had ever seem from a local band from the small town of Alton. With an explosive stage show, riddled with newly added twist & turns, and a scorching, red hot performance every night. Literally.
So it came to the end of the Dirty Little tour, DLT decided a personal break was in need. Mid summer, they spent there time with some well deserved relaxation, with a small dose of huge amounts of partying. After a month or so, they got there feet back on the ground and decided more gigs were in order, so DLT got back into the rehearsal space. A mini-tour was organized from August to October of 2007. It spanned all the way to Nottingham, where it ended. But, as the way things had gone during that tour, Woody's Position was considered. DLT had spent there time progressing from the record they had been touring. They felt and finally noticed, Woody had not. He was asked to leave after a show in Winchester at the Railway Inn on the 16th of August. This left DLT to tour the rest of there shows as a new four piece band. The shows went down in DLT history as THE NEW NEW BEGINNING.
Dirty Little Thing have been writing ever since, so catch them in 2008, you really need to see 'em to believe the new DLT are defiantly never to be fucking missed, EVER!
