About Me

After years of college I have come to the point where I feel it is time to let my voice and my thoughts be heard. I grew up in the south and I have experienced so much rejection, degradation and frustration from the racism that I faced as a black girl in a southern white neighborhood. Since my mother is mixed, half of my family is white and I have an understanding of the white experience in this country I do not have hate for white people, or any other race. my words do not come from the hate of others, they come from the love of self. Because I have the double experience I truly see how much better white people do have it than blacks and that is a big problem for me. I have studied History, Sociology, Women's Studies, Jazz History, African American History and Political Science. As I go through the education process I am learning to apply the books to real life and this page is made to share this experience with others in hopes that they will be inspired to get involved in their lives and create changes for blacks in America that will stand the test of time and make words like "nappy headed hoes", "Jena 6", "black on black crime", "Sean Bell"," Genarlow Wilson", "baby mama drama", and the all mighty "Nigger" become words and thoughts of the past. After reading Obama's books and researching his life I believe he has the same hopes for our people as I do and his historical journey as president (I hope) will rely on us as well as him, if we want to see change. So I ask that you read this page with an open mind. Everything on this page comes from the love and compassion that I have for our people and I don't want to see us fall, because right now we are.( blacks and whites) As I said before I am learning with you, these are new ideas and practices that I must ponder and exercise as well.(because I KNOW I am far from perfect) We have to flush out that self hate that we harbor in our hearts for ourselves created by the long time(over 400 years)of mistreatment and manipulation of our people from white America. So let's do this together.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I hope to meet others that are understanding and receptive to the concepts and ideas that I discuss. I will try to posts weekly blogs in response to current events or issues we are facing and hopefully people will add their own comments and ideas.Huey P Newton Interview from jail .........This man studied law at UC Berkley and was considered one of the most dangerous factors during the black power movement because he knew the law and had a complete understanding of his rights. he and Bobby Seale founded the blsck panther partyfor self defense in oakland in 1966. Their theology is a combination of black nationalism and marxist-leninist thought. what does that mean? The goal of a Leninist party is to orchestrate the overthrow of the existing government by force and seize power on behalf of the proletariat (the working class/common folk). Marxism is a theoretical-practical framework based on the analysis of conflicts between the powerful and the subjugated. They woprked with white radicals and hoped the party would be a revolutionary vanguard dedicated to overthrowing the capitalist society and fighting against police brutality. I have so much respect for what the panthers tried to do, and for their time they dd what was neccesary. Now, in 2008, we must try to take a different road to achieve our goal of equaility. we must fight our battle in school. Huey P. Newton was not considered dangerous because he was violent, he was dangerous because of his education and his knowledge.
