As a visitor to Hawaii, you cant help but hear the ancient voices and feel the Island Vibe... so much beautiful culture and Postivie Energy. On a recent trip to Kauai John purchased his first Uke at BOUNTY MUSIC. "I was hooked instantly!" Using www.youtube.com he was able to quickly find any tune imaginable. "It has to be fate", John says describing the inevitable meeting with Ben. "I love being on Kauai and on my last trip to 'da island heard the calling to purchase a uke. When I had returned home to Ashland, Oregon I originally started this page as THE SOUTHERN OREGON UKELELE ORCHESTRA, hoping to network and start a club of sorts. I made up a few flyers and put one up at my work, where I happened to see Ben reading it, I introduced myself and...as they say..."the rest is history!" The two seemed destined to meet up, Ben had just left Kauai after living there for several years and came to Ashland for his first time. With Bens talent and knowledge of traditional Hawaiian songs coupled with his uncanny ability to write a song about anything the two quickly connected and after 2 jam sessions together began playing local open-mic-nights around town as well as small pub gigs and fund raisers. Currently they are recording their debut self titled CD *THE UKULELE BOYZ* available Jan.'09.
