About Me

Abolitionist UK
A group focused on equality across all species.
Just as we reject the immoral principles of racism, sexism, homophobia and other forms of inequality, we also reject speciesism -- discrimination against individuals on the basis of their species.
The ideology that exists in the world currently openly endorses the use of non-human sentient life by human beings. As you no doubt realise, animals are often regarded as little more than ‘property’; they are economic commodities, nothing more than a means to our ends.
We believe that all sentient life deserves the right to live on its own terms, without oppression or exploitation.
It is simply wrong for us to inflict suffering and death on animals for nothing more than our pleasure or amusement, or even just because it is convenient or habitual.
Veganism
Veganism is the moral cornerstone of this approach. It is a way of life that rejects the selfish use of animals by humans for our own purposes.
Given that we can live healthily without consuming animal products, what moral justification can we possibly have for our use of animals?
We contend that there is no moral justification. The reasons often cited in attempted justification for the use of animal products are tradition and taste.
Tradition
Just because something has been done for the last few years (or even centuries) doesn’t mean we shouldn’t stop ourselves and question whether it is good practice from a moral standpoint.
Taste
There is a plethora of mouth watering plant based foods and dishes that exist in this world that the majority of people have never even tried; in all seriousness, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that our taste buds will not have have to suffer when consuming a plant based diet. If in doubt, just ask a vegan!
Veganism is not simply a diet; it is a set of moral principles with a commitment to abolition on an individual level of exploitative commodities.
The Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the United Nations estimates that 53 billion animals are killed each year for food alone (this figure does not include fish or other sea animals).

Vivisection is scientific fraud, or is it?

The fact is it really doesn't matter either way, to cause harm and death to another species for the benefit of our own is completely unethical and speciesist. I am sure there are some experiments perf...
