About Me

The administrator of this page is not the Maxon company, neither is the administrator affiliated with the Maxon company, the intention of this site is to bring Maxon users together and give Maxon Guitar Effects an identity on MySpace Maxon was the original equipment maker (OEM) for most notably the Ibanez company (also Fender), from the mid 70's to '89 Maxon produced the Ibanez pedal effects (including the classic TS-9 Tube Screamer) for market outside of Japan (the Maxon name was retained for the Japanese market), If you take the cover off any (early) Ibanez pedals, the Maxon name will appear on the circuit board and the battery cover, For the Soundtank series of pedals produced in the 90's a Chinese company called Daphon was used, But in 1992 the TS-9 (due to the popularity of Stevie Ray Vaughan) pedal was fetching a high price on the second hand market, so Maxon were used again to produce a TS-9 "reissue" and continued to produce them for Ibanez up until 2002 when they eventually went there separate ways, and for manufacture of the post '02 "Tube Screamer 9" series (which have the same appearance as the originals) Ibanez again are using another company, However the original Maxon company continue to produce guitar effects in the original factory in Japan to this day. http://www.maxon.co.jp/e_index.html www.maxonfx.com/ Free MySpace Layouts by Iron Spider

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Maxon Pedals are "Made In Japan" and leave the factory as "factory fresh" products, when buying an new Maxon pedal from a retail outlet look out for the manufacturers supplied "Japanese" battery (possibly a Fujitsu 9v Zinc Chloride PP3), anything else could mean.. either the "new" battery has for some reason been substituted after leaving the Maxon factory, or the pedal has had prior use to being sold, remember, always "factory fresh' when buying new.
