"The Colours of My Heart: Shades of Emotions," discusses the emotions and feelings that transcends from International Adoption into the life of a Korean-American adoptee raised in an all-white community. This book is based on the issues of not being allowed to grieve over the loss of the biological family, the loss of the country and cultural awareness, the loss of identity, and the many losses that follow. While this book highlights the issues that the majority of international adoptees face today, the book also brings to light the results that occurred from the issues thrust upon Lady Seoul’s own personal experience.
“The Colours of My Heart: Shades of Emotions†not only raises cultural awareness and the importance to become more pro-active amongst the readers in the Asian-American community; but, also raises awareness amongst those who are considering to internationally adopt. This book is an excellent read for all ages, races and nationalities of any ethnic background, religions, economic status, and all walks of life, because there is something that everyone can relate to. Our life’s journeys are not only messages and testimonies of God; but, our life’s journeys intertwines our lives in such a way that we need one another in order to obtain our life-long dreams, goals, aspirations, and for our characters to be molded and refined!
