I just graduated from University of Oregon last June with a degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Electronic Media. I was the Sports Intern Who Would Never Go Away at KMTR NewsSource 16 in Eugene for two full school years and enjoyed that experience enough that it reenforced my desire to one day be the sportscaster that revives the local sports segment.
I was never a coffee person growning up and even in college I never drank coffee. We did an icebreaker activity in my FIG class, like my first week on campus, where we had to find someone who fit each of about 20 statements on a sheet of paper, and everyone came to me to sign the "I didnt drink coffee this morning." Anyways, now it seems I cant get away from coffee. I spent 6 months working at the only Starbucks in Forest Grove, the kiosk inside Safeway. As much as I bagged on that place, I had a great group of coworkers, both Starbucks and Safeway folks, and a great group of regular customers that I enjoyed serving. But my hatred of the Safeway company and a desire to continue doing the same job but actually be treated like a valued employee led me to the Hillsboro Marketplace Starbucks and the exciting world of real *cough* excuse me, company owned stores.
I'm basically just a normal recent college grad, trying to find my place in the world while still enjoying life. I enjoy going out and having a good time no matter what I'm doing as long as I'm in good company. I keep things lively, I keep things fun, while keeping everything in perspective at the same time.
I am a big sports nut and live and die with the Blazers, Mariners, and Ducks. These last few years have been pretty rough, but I stay in it for the longhaul and people who dont should never be married, employed, fed, sheltered, or treated like human beings. Thats harsh I know, but think about it: Where will they be when times get rough?? Nowhere to be found, thats where.
My girlfriend and I have been together for over 4 years.
In the time I've spent on this planet, I've discovered that things have a way of working out in the end and that things are going to be ok with a little perserverance. No matter how long it takes, or how much I think someone has it better than me, in the end, I still feel like I'll end up on top.
If I had to sum myself up in one sentence it would be this: I'm extremely laid-back, fairly outgoing, generous to a fault, and there is a good chance I own more ties than you.
