If you haven't heard from me in a while, here's a cheat sheet:
After graduating from high school, I went to College of the Atlantic in Maine, spent a summer interning for an organization that held a side event to the UN World Summit on Sustainable Development (which I also got to attend - in Johannesburg, South Africa - for about 2 weeks!), came back, immersed myself in the history of the first atomic bomb ("Trinity" - google it!) for a year, graduated, moved to Montana to work for Project Vote Smart, moved back to IL, moved to San Jose, CA, moved to Orange County to work for Planned Parenthood for a while, moved back to San Jose, then moved back to Carbondale, to work on my dad's campaign for governor (as a Green), and (eventually) buy a bookstore: Rosetta Stone
Whew! Are you exhausted? I am! Like all the time. Seriously!
It gets better, though - now I work 2 part-time jobs, try to run the bookstore, and try to keep an eye out for a potential future (dare I say dream?) job - hopefully in editing/publishing!
"It isn't enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in it. One must work at it." -- Eleanor Roosevelt
“Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.†--often attributed to Ben Franklin
"As democracy is perfected, the office of the president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron." -- H.L. Mencken
"If the capitol building were on fire, the Democrats would be talking about possibly installing a firehose sometime next week, and the Republicans would be saying that we shouldn't do anything because there's no scientific consensus that fire damages buildings." -- Rich Whitney
