TeMBR69's music is beyond the limits of any established genres and styles of modern electronic music. The artist freely employs various stylistic elements ranging from ambient, experimental electronica and funk, to short expressive sketches evoked by moods and emotions. No less impressive are the inspirational sources of TeMBR69's music: the artist listens attentively to the sounds and silence of both the real and surreal worlds. Alongside the works by Boards of Canada, Rybnikov's and Dunaevsky's compositions known to any Russian from childhood are those he greatly admires. Some significant milestones mark the artistic development of TeMBR69. In the days of Radio Katysha in St Petersburg, the artist's 'Feelings' Altered Graphics' pleased the ears of the audience.Today, the musical activity of TeMBR69 goes hand in hand with the creativity of Dmitry Dubov whose project Fizzarum appeared to be a real discovery to the western labels Domino (London) and City Centre Offices (Berlin) and attracted the attention of such wizards of the electronic universe as Orbital and Coil.Another professional success of TeMBR69, was the release of the opening track 'Phut of Plex' at the Fizzarum's album 'Monochrome Plural (Domino, 2000) which reached the top 10 of the Intellectual Dance Music chart of the year. The composition was praised by the reviewers as “beautifully crafted, fragileâ€, “intricate and endearingly fallibleâ€, “otherworldlyâ€, creating “this other dimension landscapes†and “dark galaxies of soundâ€, placing you “metaphysically into some sort of celestial clockâ€.The next album 'Deep Lake' was released four years later on St Petersburg's alternative label Drugaya Kutura (The Other Culture). 'Deep Lake' represents a recording of a live performance in the Gallery of experimental sound (Pushkinskaya-10) in St Petersburg. During the performance, the trio, consisting of Dmitry Dubov, TeMBR69 and flutist Sergey Vasilyev, enchanted the public by a virtuoso cocktail of electronic and live instruments.Melody, in TeMBR69's opinion, is inseparably linked with an associative visual sequence, that is why the artist is especially interested in creative collaboration with producers of feature length films and animations.
