About Me

I play Bass Guitar and i mainly do session work although i write, compose and produce my own music. I currently have "works in progress" with a number of artists who i also play in bands for and with whom include....Hkb Finn, Derek Johnson, Reggae Vibes, Tunde Jegede, Tropical Heatwave and CJ. Lewis ............................................................ ...............................................I have recently embarked on some music and video production work with 2 Jamaican Reggae Dancehall Dj's (Rappers),...Both originate from "The Garden Parish" Port Antonio, Portland Jamaica,.....hometown of one of Jamaica's most vivacious new producers "Marley Banton"...(watch this space).............. The 1st gentleman is called "Missionary" with a track entitled "SLOW DANCE" which is currently tearing up the underground chart and dancehalls in Jamaica....Yes and there's a BRAND NEW DANCE to go with the song created by new and up and coming Lyricist and Dancer "Skeletor" (De Girls Dem Whore) .... (Video showing on myspace.com/dmissionary) ................ The 2nd gentleman is the charismatic "Copper Reds" debuting with a track entitled "This Year".......which ironically will probably be released next year! The Reggae Vibes! are essentially a 3 piece unit comprising of Drums, Bass & Keyboards. We back a relatively new artist called Natty Wailer who in his younger years was 1st Bob Marley and The Wailers chef, then became one of Bob's studio session keyboard players in Jamaica (played piano on Talking Blues and many other well known hits) but is now currently residing in Ireland which is where his captive audience is....check us out on Uk.Myspace.com/video/ and all other Natty Wailer related articles on Google Search or Wikepedia! ............................................................ ............................................... The 2nd band is a Steel Pan Combo called Tropical Heatwave! We play mainly Soca, Calypso, Latin, Samba, Funk, Jazz and Reggae Music. ....The unit is headed by Mr Geddes Yates....Pan player supremo) We're a 4/5 piece comprising of Soprano Pan, Guitar, Drums, Bass & Percussions. We hardly play in London, so if any of you are living anywhere outside of London, you're more likely to catch us performing....quite a lively bunch for under 100 we are!! (lol) Our Website is www.tropicalheatwave.com...Check us oooouuut! ............................................................ ................................................. The 3rd band is called Drover Street; The official backing band with world-wide acclaimed spoken word artist HKB:Finn...Now this guy is the Don of "spoken herbs" check out his Myspace page, or go to www.hkbfinn.com for musical flavours to curb ur behaviours......... The band features genius of Mr Derek Johnson on Guitar, The genius of Mr Cleveland Watkiss on Keyboards & Vocals, The genius of Mr Tunde Jegede on Kora, Cello & Jembe (now thats a juggling act u MUST see), The genius of Mr 'Don' Jose Joyette on Drums and yours truly (over-shadowed) on Bass & Vocals! ........................................My 4th band is called The Nomadic Mystics!.........We perform the beautiful and timeless music of Mr Tunde Jegede, Mr Wali Cham , Mr Kasse Madi and Ms Sona Soul, all of which are deep rooted in West African history & tradition. Sona, Wali & Tunde come from "The" family of Kora players.....an unbroken lineage that dates back over 700 YEARS, with each generation handing down the tradition and techniques required in the mastery of this beautiful and ignoble instrument! The band features some of the above mentioned players and also includes Percussionist and South African Master Drummer Eugene Skeef....(see www.eugeneskeef.com).... Click on their pic links in my friends box, and taste some of 'musical milk' that "runneth over" from their cups!.....................You can also find me (and most of the members of the Nomadic Warrirors) on the www.Soundjunction.org site where I was priviledged to be working as a part of a large ensemble, under the direction of the dynamic, controversal multi-faceted, multi talented Composer Mr Tunde Jegede performing a song called "Moving Away". (alot to say in 1 breath) ............................................................ ...................................... The Soundjunction project which is sponsored & created by Abrsm....(Associated Board of the Royal School of Music) and is unique in the sense where it allows the listener/user to interact with the musical piece and manipulate the individuals instruments heard within that piece!! Sounds fun??....Then what u waitin for?....Check it ooooouuuut!!.....Anyway ..I'm gonna shut up now and leave you to have a look around the rest of my page. I'll be rotating the songs in my profile on my music page (www.myspace.com/maccamuzik) every few weeks, so if you like anything you hear, feel free to give me a holla!!Thanks for passing thru.....Bles Up!
