The Hat, a life long traveller and world music nut, is one of a growing number of Balkan Beat DJ's obsessed with fusing modern dance music with traditional Gypsy sounds and raising hell on the dance floor. Born and raised in a sleepy East Anglian village, he now lives in Milan. Last year he gave up a successful career as a world music programmer and festival organiser to travel the globe looking for the best, most raucous, highest energy Balkan music parties in the world.I've started a new project called Balkan Beat IT which is an online music magazine covering what is happening in the scene world wide. It will have articles written for enthusiasts by enthusiasts about bands djs new music, reviews, what's happening on the festival circuit, who's playing where etc. ..
