Aly’s Wake

Aly's Wake started as a studio project in 2006 by William Munoz and Aaron Brake. The two friends had been in many bands together in high school, but after graduating in 2005 William moved away to his home state of Utah. William began working with many bands in the southern Utah/Las Vegas area as a promoter/stage crew/occasional guest vocalist. Realizing he could not reach his full potential as a musician in Utah, William returned to California after an offer to record an album with Aaron. William and Aaron then recorded Aly's Wake's self titled EP. “Aly's Wake” was a hardcore/metal grouping of songs that told the story of the years leading up to it's recording. Shortly after its completion Aly's Wake disbanded.
In 2008 William and Aaron began another metal studio project called CR4WL. With a couple of years of working in other bands and growing as musicians, CR4WL's first release “Cryptic Mourning” was a more serious venture for the two. Cryptic Mourning was meant to be a tribute to the lost friends and family members both men experienced in the two years they did not work together. After Cryptic Mourning's limited release, CR4WL disbanded.
After the end of CR4WL William decided to bring back Aly's Wake in a way that would fit his original vision of the band. To start the band as a live acoustic act, with the main goal of stripping the music down to it's core and let it speak for it's self. William then reached out to the group of many musicians he knew to find talented new members. After a few months of searching K. Midnyte was found, completing the line up. The new Aly's Wake is currently writing/practicing new songs for its live act, and has plans on recording their 2nd EP after they start playing live in the Ventura County area.
