True Vengeance (R.I.P.)

About Me

True Vengeance broke up in February 2010 due to a loss of enthusiasm from some members, as well as schedule conflicts and distance. Andrew still plays in Cryptic Prophecy, and Max in Igneous Tragedy of the Leaving Uncle. Andrew and Paul are currently discussing the possibility of a new project which will likely use much of the True Vengeance material.

Old Bio:

In May 2008, Vengeance was born when Paul showed Dan a riff he wrote at a jam session and they decided to start recruiting members for a band. The original members were Paul on lead guitar, Dan on drums and Eric singing. Before long Amanda was brought in on bass. Vengeance played two originals written by Paul and Eric and a cover of Run to the Hills at its first gig at a battle of the bands at PCHS, which did not go well due to disorganization. We opened for a bunch of talentless punk and hardcore bands who everyone loved because that was the current trend. After that the band got more serious and finally got a show at the Haunt (thanks to Dan from Profound Promotions), and started practicing for it. We added another original and covered The Trooper. At that show we met Andrew, who had played alongside us with Shattered Revelation and Aequitas a Noctem (now Cryptic Prophecy). He agreed to audition as a rhythm guitarist, and we jammed on Maiden and Metallica. Then, he started singing and we knew that we wanted him in the band. We kicked Eric out, which sucked because we didn't want to ruin a friendship, but had to do what was best for the band. The new lineup debuted at a second Haunt show in October 2008 with three originals, The Trooper, and Breaking the Law. The feeling that Vengeance had improved with a second guitar and new vocals was universal. The new Vengeance then played another show at the James Harmon Community Center in Hastings with Andy LaBella filling in on bass, showing off the brand new A World Unknown for the first time. Since then, we have been playing shows regularly, while working on new material. Amanda was fired in February 2009 for lack of dedication to the band, and the trio of Paul, Dan, and Andrew continued for a bit without a bassist. We recently changed the name of the band to True Vengeance to add a little more flavor to it, and also because Vengeance was taken by about 20 other bands. Soon after the name change, Odyssy rhythm guitarist Max Young was brought in on bass.
