Influences:Ted Aukerman Jr. started playing guitar and writing songs in the 1980’s inspired by Neal Young, the Beatles, the Eagles and Bob Dylan but mostly by Christian artist Randy Stonehill. After years of playing worship music in church, he recently returned to his “singer –songwriter roots†creating both hilarious and thought provoking tunes in a hybrid country rock from Liverpool style.A career highlight for Ted was getting to work with his hero Randy Stonehill who produced a 3 song project last year. Canadian pop artist Richard Cummins is also collaborating on new tracks.Ted won first place over 80 entries in Muskogee’s first annual Azalea festival song writing contest with his song “Between the Cracks†in March of this year. The song speaks of Christians neglecting hurting people while working on their country club ministries.
†The reason we are here on earth is to delight God with our worship. Singing in the shower can bless God as much as High Church. He has a terrific sense of humor as well and I think He has been laughing with me for years. Most of my songs are based on real events and emotions. We all share pain and joy, love and lust, stupidity and brilliance and some of us have songs running through our heads. I write them down as much as I can.â€
