I am here for Friends

About Me

I've decided to edit this for content...and cause it was all too damn long. I live in Lakeland, for now. I moved away and came back here, twice, 'cause it is a black hole. I work at Sea World, doing fishy-type things as an aquarium husbandry assistant, so I'm a happy camper.found this fantasy layout at HOT FreeLayouts.com :: MyHotComments

My Interests

I love spending time with my husband, I like reading, a lot, I also love writing, which may stem directly from all the reading. I like to hang out with friends, go to movies and out to eat. I also enjoy working on the webcomic I have with a friend. I am into art; drawing, painting, ceramics, glassblowing, making my own jewelry. I'm very into photography, and have had a few shots published. I love animals and have a houseful. I love tattoos, have three, and can't wait until the next one. I like computer stuff, video games, comic books, and cons: yes I'm a big geek.I love SCUBA diving and sailing. Dragons, dragons and more dragons. I hate to drive, but love to go places.I love to travel and have had opportunities to visit Europe, Canada, a large majority of the continental US, and to live in the Virgin Islands.

I'd like to meet:

I am only interested in people who are willing to forgo the drama, I hate that crap. I want to meet people who are genuine and willing to be open minded about me and my beliefs.Oh and anyone with a cool accent.

Music:

Anything rock. Evanescence, Lacuna Coil and Garbage. Tool, Cake, Nine Inch Nails, Disturbed, 30 Seconds to Mars, Fallout Boy, Cowboy Mouth since way back when. Guster, The Tea Party, Incubus, Foo Fighters, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy (who rock more than I can ever explain in concert), Disturbed, The Tragically Hip, The Beatles (and Elvis, I'm an anomaly), Aerosmith, Van Morrison, Poe, Dido, Jem (the Welsh chick, not the cartoon from the 80's), Blue October, Rilo Kiley, Pink. Some reggae. I also love Irish music, traditional and not so traditional, like Ashley MacIsaac, Seven Nations, Off Kilter, Loreena McKennitt, and Enya.

Movies:

I love really odd and colorful movies, lots of foreign and indie films. Mirrormask, Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, anything with the Muppets. Legend, The Princess Bride, Monty Python-Life of Brian and Holy Grail. Young Frankenstein, and Blazing Saddles because Mel Brooks is a genius. All of M. Nights' flicks, he too is brilliant. Kevin Smiths films, Run Lola Run (in subtitles, not dubbed). Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Dear Frankie, The Red Violin, Chocolat, Pirates of the Caribbean I , II and III (anything with Johnny Depp). Serenity, the original Star Wars trilogy (There are no prequels), the first Matrix, Constantine, both Spider-mans (the third one, not so much), Batman Begins, Equilibrium, Final Fantasy:Advent Children. The Fifth Element, both Underworlds, Ultraviolet. More recently, Pans Labyrinth and 300 rocked.

Television:

Lost, and Heroes, my two addictions. Animal Planet, Travel channel, Discovery channel, National Geographic Channel, I love the stuff that explains how the entire world is basically going to explode any minute. I miss Firefly and Invader Zim something fierce. Oh and I have everyone at my second job hooked on Miami Ink.

Books:

There's not enough room on the page. My husband told me once, I don't read, I devour books. I love Stephen King, Nora Roberts(yes I know, smut, but really well written smut). Neil Gaiman, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Alice Hoffman, Morgan Lewellyn, Maeve Binchy, Robert Heinlein, Jodi Picoult, Jacqueline Carey, Laurell K. Hamilton, R. A. Salvatore (I got to meet him once). The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and The Chronicles of Narnia. Harry Potter. Anything fantasy and almost anything sci-fi. Memoirs of a Geisha, Watership Down, The DaVinci Code (before all the hype), stuff by Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, Jane Green, Jennifer Weiner, most of Michael Crichton's books. Brian Jacques, Gregory Maguire, Anne Rice, and William Goldman. There really isn't enough room on this page. I fully believe anything that was a book before it was a movie was better as a book. Some of the classics, Tom Sawyer, Of Mice and Men, Siddartha, anything by Hemingway. Though there are some classics that are rubbish and people only read them because someone tells us we have to.

Heroes:

Steve Irwin, Jane Goodall, Charles Darwin

Dreams

I've been having strange dreams lately. I'm not sure why, I suppose it could be stress, becuase everyone knows 911 operators have a blissfully stress-free life. I suppose it could be a change in medic...

A personal hero.

I kow a lot of people probably think "crazy" when they think of Steve Irwin, but the only thing I could ever think was "wow". Steve Irwin passed away today, off the northern coast of Australia, where ...

They're everywhere!

Buddy

We brought Buddy home last night, and he seems to be adjusting well. I think he has velcro on his nose, as he won't leave our sides for more than a second. I think he will calm down a bit once he gets...

Posting B.S.

I was reading through this post tonight, the one about gay marriage, and I was really sad how many truly ignorant people there are in the world. It sort of amused me that the largest part of posts aga...
