No band, just me. I've been obsessed with music since the late 70's. I first got into electronic music listening to Jean Michel Jarre's albums Oxygene and Equinox. Both amazing. The biggest and most profound influences in my life came in 1979. The song Are 'Friends' Electric? by a band called Tubeway Army, soon after to become Gary Numan totally changed my life and has done to this very day. That was when I realised I wanted to produce electronic music. Sadly so many things in life prevented me from persuing my dream but now my time is here.At present Im working on project Jasmine. Although it's the working name for what will become my first album I've yet to find a sound and style Im happy with so I concider my work to be just ideas or sketches of what may develop into something more substantial. In time the inclusion of guitar and vocals (me of course) will also have an impact on my musical direction.After my last two productions 'HeadPool' and 'Downloader Freeloader' I feel good producing music with heavy bass lines overlayed with melodies and Industrial, abstract overtones. Thumping percussion and drums add to what becomes powerful and dynamic. Fast/slow, rise and fall with changing moods to boot. Not sure how to categorise it so that's a big plus. I hate to follow the crowds. Update: I've now got the hardware to put my guitar through all this software I use, vocals too. My guitar style is quite old-school rock mixing lead in between chord sequences. It's as though placed in front of different instruments Im a totally different person. Synths are very Numan and Techno, percussion is thumping and Trance-like and guitars are 70's rock. Vocals... hmmm a Grech/Numan hybrid I suppose. Right now with all this to hand it's as though someone has thrown a huge puzzle in front of me and the task is to put it together to create something. That something, as far as I believe, has to be something different than anything out there. Im tired of hearing clones of other bands and covers. If anyone has the gift do they not owe it to themselves and music lovers to push the bounderies of music and sound. It can't be 'there's nothing new under the sun', that's so defeatist. I was put six months behind schedule with incompatability issues, time for work...
