"Closing out the night was Slainte. The name is pronounced SLAWN-cha, which is a Gaelic toast meaning "to your health." Slainte plays heavy. Real heavy. Scott Miller, Dan Miller and Jesse Brawner unleashed a sludgy noise that filled the room. Like a lot of modern insurgent bands, Slainte takes music that has come before and weaves it together, making them very hard to call either punk or metal. Fusing metal-like guitar work with varying bass styles and heavy drumming, the band sounds like different things at different times, even within the same song.
