Band Members: I cooperate with Dave Rogders, a truly brilliant guitar player from Devon (originally from Australia). He participated on an older album of Cathy Bonner, and is a great session player. You can hear Dave and me in the "Home Sweet Home" sample a little bit, and this was our first and very spontanious meeting in July.At this moment, I live my happy married life here in UK so I join some good traditional irish sessions around. I also run a friendly (mostly irish) session in my village (they say it's very "irish" place down here), once a month. There are some brilliant musicians in Czech republic and Slovakia. I am always happy to play folk music with anyone who has the heart to keep this lovely tradition alive, and also, I like to help other musicians to follow their musical dreams, no matter what age or abilities.GUYS, THIS IS REALLY REALLY VERY IMPORTANT. PLEASE VISIT AND READ THE STORY OF A FRIEND OF MINE, HERE: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewpro file&friendid=351762145..I AM HELPING... AS MUCH AS I CAN. AND WHAT ABOUT YOU? How I made my profile::
I used Dave & Jay's amazing myspace profile editor . : :
Influences: Gerry O'Connor, Leon Hunt, Becki Driscoll, Last Night's Fun, Flook, Lunasa, Altan, Comas, Seamus Egan, Michael McGoldrick, The Chieftains, Fernhill, Kathryn Roberts, Sean Lakeman, Dervish, Malinky, Karin Polwart, Clannad, Moya Brennan...
Sounds Like: I grew up on a country music, folk and bluegrass gospel music. I was a member of slovak traditional bg gospel band called "Revival", touring around Slovakia, Czech republic, Hungary and Germany. Later, I was in another (new-grass) band called the Break-out, and another rock early-stage christian band called Asuza Street. The last band I joined was slovak Irish Rose, who tend to play celtic music, and all this influenced me... I explore music from other cultures, like russian (see the video) or albanian, or anythig interesting. So far, I'd like to sound like Seamus Egan, or Gerry O'Connor, or Leon Hunt, or Bela Fleck? ;) Those are the people who play the banjo with a lot of energy and passion. I am learning to use all the possibilities 5-string banjo gives me. This learning is endless, thrilling and opens me a door to meet new wonderful world of people who are such an inspiration to me!CURRENT MOON lunar phase:
