Jan Baruschke was born in 1974 in Luebeck. He got his first violin lessons
at the age of 12 by Ognian Nikolov. In 1991 he switched to the Italian
violinist Miguel Negri. He gave concerts in Spain and Germany quite early
and participated as a soloist on tours of the Chamber Orchestra Orpheus
(Bulgaria) and the New Chamber Orchestra Luebeck throughout the
United States, France, and the Czech Republic.
Apart from his activities as a first violinist within the Johann-Strauss-Ensemble founded by him and pianist Prof. Barthel, he was a constant member of violinist André Rieus Johann-Strauss- Orchestra from 1999 to Sept. 2003. He produced several CDs and participated in many television and radio productions.
In 2004 he founded his own music distribution company (JBR) where he
distributes his own music as well as that of other artists.
Jan understands how to create classical crossover in its finest; bridging
film tunes, old favourites and traditional folk songs. An uplifting blend of
genre and style expressed by Jan’s virtuoso violin performance takes the
audience on an acoustical journey of inspiration, emotion and passion.
Jan Baruschke plays a violin by Jean Baptiste Vuillaume from the year
1865 which was kindly made available by Mrs. Waltraude Grunenberg.
